Transportation officials gathered together and holding a signed Equity In Infrastructure pledge

This month, we joined Bay Area community and transit leaders at the Milpitas BART station to sign the Equity In Infrastructure Project Pledge. The coalition of signers is committed to increasing contracting opportunities for historically underutilized businesses, or HUBs in the infrastructure sector.

The Equity In Infrastructure Project Pledge will work to increase competition for public contracts, save taxpayer dollars, and deliver better value for infrastructure investments while building generational wealth and reducing the racial wealth gap.

The Equity in Infrastructure Pledge calls on signers to increase the number, size, and proportion of contracting opportunities going to HUBs and to make more financing available to HUBs, among other strategies

“The Transportation Authority is proud to join the EIP coalition to do more to help grow historically underutilized business (HUB) in our infrastructure investment and delivery programs. We are committed to building on our foundation of progress and look forward to facilitating more inclusive and successful partnerships with HUBs and the EIP community going forward,” said Tilly Chang, Executive Director of the Transportation Authority.
