We were honored to host California State Transportation Agency Secretary David Kim and his colleagues for a meet-and-greet at our office this month. The agency, also known as CalSTA, is a state cabinet-level agency that oversees Caltrans, the California Transportation Commission, and the Department of Motor Vehicles among holding other policy and transportation sector development responsibilities. Governor Gavin Newsom appointed Secretary Kim to lead CalSTA earlier this year.
Our Chair Aaron Peskin, our staff, and our partners from SFMTA, Caltrans, and MTC were present for a conversation on the next generation of state, regional, and local transportation partnerships. We discussed how to advance Vision Zero, Muni Forward, the Caltrain Downtown Rail Extension and Second Transbay Rail Crossing, 101/280 Carpool and Express Lanes, and clean ferries for Treasure Island.
We look forward to continue to work with CalSTA to build a thriving transportation system for the Bay Area.
