The San Francisco County Transportation Authority (SFCTA) has been awarded a Certificate of Achievement from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.
This is the sixth consecutive year the Transportation Authority has been awarded the certificate.
"The Transportation Authority has consistently demonstrated excellence in transparency and stewardship of public funds,” said Transportation Authority Board Chair Rafael Mandelman (District 8). “We appreciate this recognition by the Government Finance Officers Association for the sixth year in a row. The GFOA award, combined with our agency’s AAA bond rating, is a testament to the hard work and professionalism of our team.”
The Certificate of Achievement was awarded to the Transportation Authority for its annual financial report for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2022. The certificate was unanimously approved by a diverse committee of government financial reporting experts who judged agencies on their strict adherence to comprehensive reporting, and respective public engagement.
The Transportation Authority plans, funds, and delivers transportation projects to improve travel choices for residents, commuters, and visitors throughout San Francisco. In its funding role, the Transportation Authority administered approximately $125 million from this past fiscal year generated from San Francisco’s voter approved Prop L half-cent transportation sales tax, the city’s Proposition AA vehicle registration fee ($10 per registered vehicle), and Prop D Transportation Network Company (TNC) Tax, as well as San Francisco’s share of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District’s Transportation Fund for Clean Air program ($4 per vehicle).
