Two Safety Projects Complete on Larkin Street and 20th Avenue
SFMTA has completed two safety projects supported by Transportation Authority funding: the Larkin Street Quick-Build Project and the 20th Avenue Neighborway Project. Together, the projects improve conditions for people walking, biking, and driving along key corridors in the city.

Transportation Authority Approves $200,000 for District 2 Pedestrian Safety Improvements
At the May 12 Transportation Authority Board meeting, board members approved $200,000 in Prop L sales tax funds to support pedestrian safety improvements on Turk Boulevard in District 2. The board gave final approval at the May 19 meeting.

We're hosting a virtual town hall event as part of our third and final round of outreach. During the meeting, we'll recap our progress and recent findings, share updated project recommendations, and facilitate discussion to gather additional community feedback.

Mission Bay School Access Plan
This project will analyze connectivity between a new public school site in the Mission Bay neighborhood, the existing low-stress active transportation network, and existing and planned transit. The project will then design infrastructure improvements to mitigate key barriers to active transportation. The project will also coordinate expected transportation programs and improvements from projects in the area to ensure school access is supported.

Transportation Authority Board Approves $150,000 to Support Curbside Electric Vehicle Charging

Transportation Authority Joins UC Davis ITS for 5th Annual Transit Research Center Symposium
On April 23, the Transportation Authority joined the UC Institute of Transportation Studies, or ITS, for its 5th Annual Transit Research Center Symposium at UC Davis. Our Executive Director Tilly Chang delivered the keynote address, in which she advocated for bold action during this critical moment in public transportation for the Bay Area and across California.

San Francisco Freeway Network Management Study
The study will consider managed lane alternatives, including priced lane and priced facility options, for freeways within San Francisco (Central Freeway, I-80, U.S. 101, I-280) with the goals of reducing vehicle miles traveled, increasing person throughput, and improving transit reliability.
