Metropolitan Transportation Commission Approves $23 Million Conditional Award for Bay Skyway
The Bay Skyway is designed to create a 7.5-mile corridor connecting downtown San Francisco, downtown Oakland, West Oakland, Yerba Buena Island, and Treasure Island. The project will create a safe and seamless alternative route for cyclists, pedestrians, and transit riders that will bypass the Bay Bridge corridor.

Safety Improvements Completed in District 6
SF Public Works completed pedestrian safety improvements in District 6 in February, including two sidewalk extensions, four new curb ramps at Jones Street and Ellis Street, and a raised crosswalk at 8th Street and Minna Street. The Transportation Authority supported with $700,000 in Prop AA vehicle registration fee funds.

This project will analyze connectivity between a new public school site in the Mission Bay neighborhood, the existing low-stress active transportation network, and existing and planned transit. The project will then design infrastructure improvements to mitigate key barriers to active transportation. The project will also coordinate expected transportation programs and improvements from projects in the area to ensure school access is supported.
